I've put two dates on here in case it rains on Friday. If ir ains Saturday as well, we'll need to schedule for another weekend.

It's been several months since we did a trip to the Alvira area, so I believe it's time to take another. (The abandoned town of Alvira is located behind the Allenwood Prison, in the gamelands area).

We will meet in the parking lot of the Surplus Outlet in Montgomery (some call it the Amish Store) on Rt. 15 near the Pike Drive In. (State Rd 54 intersection) at 6:45 p.m. If you need directions, email me and I can give you a mapquest map.

There will probably be 10-20 people there, so bring whatever equipment you have, flashlights (small is good), cameras, recorders, etc. and we'll see what we can find. Don't bring food with you on the short hikes (leave it in your car), as there are wild animals in the area and we don't want to attract them to us. Also, there is a map on the website of where the bunkers are all located if you want one. Just go to the download videos tab on the left side of the websitet, open it up and look for the files called "Alvira Bunkers Map 1 and 2". This will help out immensely with finding the bunker locations. Personally, we seem to get more activity in the cemeteries, but you're more than welcome to wander off on your own looking for bunkers. The map shows many bunkers, but a lot of them have been destroyed. I know where there are at least a dozen still standing if you're interested in going to them.

Bring bug repellant, as there are always plenty of feeding insects to go around. Ticks were bad in the spring, so I don't know what to expect now that the weather is getting cooler. I'm sure they'll be looking for something warm to cozy up to though.

If you're going to be late and want to call wait till about 6pm when I turn my cell phone on and I'm in a service area. My number is 570-916-4627.

See you there!

Hi, for anyone that has asked me lately if they can join us. This one will be a good first time hunt for anyone being a novice ghost hunter. Bring a flashlight and your camera. Plan on being bothered by bugs...it's part of the territory...Laura
