I was born and raised in Pennsylvania but have lived in NY state for most of my life. I am currently working part time and raising my 4 kids.

I can't say I was always a believer in the paranormal. But I have always been open to the possibilities that there is something more after death. I never believed that we just stopped being. It's good to remain open minded. There is so much more out there that we have yet to learn.

Sensitive? Maybe receptive is a better word when applied to me and any ability I may have.  I try to stay open minded and receptive to different ideas and possibilities.

I will try to shorten a rather lengthy experience that I had, maybe 5 or 6  years ago, at my mother's house while my kids and I were visiting. Keep in mind that mom lives in the house in PA where I lived as a child until I left home at the age of 17. Nothing odd had ever happend there while I lived at home.

The back story is that, long ago, my mom worked a part time job as a personal assistant and light duty housekeeper for an elderly man who was supposedly in poor health. She rarely had to go into his bedroom, in the upstair of his home, while he was in there. She mostly worked in the downstairs of his large home. Initially he was kind to my mom and sometimes gave her items from his home. One of those items was a collection of glassware that he said he had way back when he owned a bar. Mom brought them home with her. For years they were in a kitchen cupboard up on a high cabinet shelf. At some point, my mom boxed up these seldom used glasses and put them in storage in a crawl space in the upstairs of our home. We forgot all about the glassware over the years.

 Mom had an extremely traumatic and job-ending experience with this elderly man one day when she was asked to take him his lunch. Someone else had always done that for him.  As she was entering his bedroom to deliver his lunch, she saw that he had some shocking  pornography playing on his TV depicting what appeared to be of  very young girls. Mom quickly tried to leave his room, but he jumped up and tried to grab my mom and keep her in the room. She fled the home, and never went back. It was traumatic for my mom.  Later she learned that this same man had run a child prostitution ring in a nearby city.  Years went by, and she forgot all about this man.

Over the years, my mom had odd  reoccuring dreams of one of her old black dogs which had died and of an old man, all in black, wearing a top hat. She didn't connect this dream to the creepy old man she had worked for until one day she drove past the home where she had worked long ago. Then it clicked. It was that same man that she had worked for!  She has mentioned these dreams to me at different times over the years but never told me all of the story about her work at the old man's home. I just thought her dreams were strange and a bit creepy.

Fast forwarding to just 5 or so years ago, we come to my visit that made me believe in the paranormal.

The upstairs of my mom's home has just two bedrooms divided by a fight of stairs. One of  my kids was sleeping in the smaller room, alone. The other three kids, my small dog, and I slept in the other room. I had the door shut so my dog wouldn't go downstairs in the night. The day had been really hot and sunny, so the window shade had been pulled down in the day to keep the intense sun out. I just left the shade down at night. The room was completely dark after the lights were turned off. Two of my kids were sleeping on the floor. My youngest daughter slept in a bed across the large room. The dog was sleeping by the closed bedroom door. After I had fallen asleep, I sensed my youngest daughter standing by my bed. I turned on the bedside lamp, and spoke to her. She went back to bed. What felt like just a short time later, I felt her beside me, curled up in a ball next to me in my bed, . I put my arm over her form, on top of the covers. I felt her next to me. I wasn't able to sleep with her there, so I told her she would have to get into her own bed. I reached over to, once again, turn on the lamp. In the seconds that it took me to turn on the light, the form in my bed was gone! I looked across the room and saw that same daughter sound asleep in her own bed all the way across this large room! She was under the covers and most definitely asleep!  No way could she have crossed the room, littered with luggage, clothing, shoes, and my other sleeping kids in the few seconds that it took me to turn on the light! I was baffled. I didn't know  how she had done  that. It didn't seem possible. I eventually fell back to sleep after calming down a bit.  Once again, I woke up to see a form standing by the other side of my bed. But the bed was near a corner of the room where the ceiling sloped downward. It wasnt even a 3' high space right in the corner. Yet, I saw a white form standing there. I froze. The room was pitch black but I saw a white form like a child, standing in the low corner! How did I see anything with no light in the room? I was almost too afraid to even move. But I cautiously rolled to my right and turned the lamp on again. I immediately looked over at my kids and saw that they were all still in bed and were sound asleep. The dog was agitated over by the door as if he wanted out of the room. I looked into the corner where I had seen the figure, but there was no one there.

I pretty much stayed awake the rest of the night!

The next morning, my mom asked me how I slept. I just looked at her and asked if anyone has ever told her that her house was haunted. She looked over at my step dad then back at me and asked "why?". So, I told her about my crazy night. I was still pretty rattled as well as exhausted. A short time later, my daughter, who had slept in the other bedroom,  came downstairs asking who was stomping up and down the stairs all night long keeping her awake. No one was! I didnt hear anything. I was even awake most of the night.  The kids who slept in the same room as I did had a normal night and hadn't experienced anything strange.

Mom proceeded to tell me about some other odd things that other family members had told her over the years. Some had seen a child in a white gown walking or drifting down a hallway on the first floor of mom's home. These were all separate occurances experienced by a few people. Others had just seen movement out of the corner of their eye in that same hallway.

Mom also said that her black lab, Zeke, was acting weird and was sitting in the corner of that same upstairs bedroom. He would just sit in the corner and sometimes stay there for hours sleeping there with his nose pointing towards the corner!

My mom and step dad decided to empty out that storage crawl space which had an access door in that same corner. They discovered the boxes of glasses that had been given to my mom by that old man. Mom believes that because he was evil, the gift of the glasses were the cuase of the weird happenings in her home. She removed the glasses and tossed them into a dumpster away from her home. No one has had any more sightings or possible paranormal experiences since then.  The dog has passed away so we cant say that he stopped his habit of sitting in that corner.

I know what I felt beside me in the bed was the form of a small child. I believe what I saw in the corner was a small child in white. I still dont know how I saw anything in that pitch dark room! But I saw it. I believe it was a paranormal experience. So does my mom and step dad.

Came across this site and group while doing some web surfing.  For quite some

time now I have had an interest in the paranormal.  Would be interested in learning

more.  I can't say that I have had any paranormal experiences in my life, but I am certainly

curious if there is something out there... so to speak.

                   I am a 62 yr old female and have lived in Williamsport since '92. I have always been interested in the un-knowen. I have seen and heard things for many many yrs,Sometime i would love to go on a investagation,i'm always wanting to know more.I am now finding out my grandson may also have the gift. I do like to watch ghost hunters with Grant and Jason. I  believe there the real deal. There is also another show on tv I just don't understand,Why would you need to be locked in some place to do a investagation????? Just doesn't sound right to me.I'm hoping to go to a meeting soon and learn more.

I'm 23 years old and i love history and photography witch the 2 are what got me interested in this activity.  I have exp everything from voices, to seeing things that shouldnt be there, all leaving me to really belive, and even recently ive had a few run ins that i just cant explain.   One of my biggest fascinations is history and ghosts together, i would love to go vist old temples and ancient ruins in search of the truth!
